Jomsom Muktinath Trek is an exciting trek in the Annapurna and Mustang regions of Nepal. Muktinath  trek will be best at that time because this is the rain shaded zone of Nepal .like other trekking destination, Mustang doesn’t receive adequate rainfall. It is also know as mountain desert. Similar to Tibet you can trek to Muktinath  on rainy season (Jun-Aug) also. Its popular destination for monsoon season in Nepal.

 Jomsom Muktinath trekking start from the low elevation from Pokhara and walk continue to the villages with flat roofs of the houses were the Trans -Himalayan commercial place between Tibet and India traded by Thakali ethnic people. Typical villages such as Tukuche, Marpha and Jharkot with a King palace and Bon-Po provides you the great opportunity be very close to their culture. In fact, Muktinath is the important holy place for Hinduist Pilgrims, Buddhists and ascetic Sadhus. They regard Muktinath as the sacred place of God Vishnu. The temple is situated in a gorge of trees with 108 water tab from sacred spring water. We go down following the trails to the Kali Gandaki River with exceptional views. This is the place where tourist completes the success of highest Pass Thorong La.

    Kathmandu-drive or fly to Pokhara (7 hours by drive and half an hour by fly) and overnight in hotel.

    Pokhara- Drive to Nayapul, Trek to Tikhedhunga (1540 M)

  • Day 5

    Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (2860M)

  • Day 6

    Ghorepani to Tatopani (hot spring place (1190 M)

  • Day 7

    Tatopani to Ghasa (2590M)

  • Day 8

    Ghasa to Marpha (2800M)

  • Day 9

    Marpha to Kagbeni (2800M)

  • Day 10

    Kagbeni to Muktinath (3800 M)

    Muktinath to Jomsom via Lubra (2710M)

Itinerary

Arrival in Kathmandu Tribhuwan airport and transfer to hotel in the evening well-come dinner.

After your breakfast to head on for our guided day trip to world heritage sites in Kathmandu valley and visit the highlights of Kathmandu and the surrounding areas. We take you to visit the pilgrimage sites of Hindus temple Pashupatinath, one of the most important shrine of Shiva temples on the subcontinent which is place of thousand of devotees, Saddhus (holy men/Baba), and can be seen the cremating body most of the times in the holy riverbank of Bagmati. Hundreds of monkeys are giggling with you and take a time to exploring surrounding area and visit Bouddhanath stupa an another pilgrimage centre which is most popular and important place for Buddhist. You can explore with rounding prayer wheel and flattering colorful flag with melodious chanting noise. After visiting Bouddhanath stupa we’ll drive to the City of Devotees (Bhaktapur). This traditional and traffic free town is the third biggest town in the Valley. We’ll explore the medieval like squares, courtyards and temples of this vibrant town. After a stop for lunch at restaurant in Bhaktapur it’s time to drive back to Kathmandu and meet up with your travel consultant & fellows to prepare for next day and overnight at the hotel. Alternatively, the same group may have option to choose same 3 sightseeing place inside Kathmandu valley instead of these given place.

It’s takes 6-7hours by tourist bus it is very nice drive along the way we will enjoy with the very nice Mountain View and we pass through beautiful landscape, terrace rice field and forest. Or fly to Pokhara it takes about half an hour. For the rafting we will drive to Rafting place call Phisling and make a rafting about 3hours and after rafting again take the bus then drive to Pokhara.

(Its takes 1 and half an hour) Naya pool is the starting point of trekking and same day trek to Tikhedhunga it takes 3-4hours. This day we cross the suspension-hanging bridge then about 1 hour normal way than after gradually up hill to Tikhedhunga. Along the way we pass through gurung village. We can see gurung culture and their life style.

It’s takes 6-7hours. All the way steep uphill trek stony step to Ulleri. According to the guide book there are more than 3000 stony step. You will trek through Magar village. The entire village is very beautiful. Magar people are one of the tribes of Nepal. They are very rich for their own culture. People from this area they are surviving mostly by agriculture, service in Guarkah army, and tourist tea house business. This day we pass through beautiful Rhododendrons forest if you visit in this area in the spring season you will enjoy full verities of flower of Rhododendron. Ghorepani is on the hillocks elevation of 2810m from the sea level. From here you can have very beautiful Panoramic view of the mountain like all the Annapurna range, Dhawalagiri, Nilgiri, Machhapuchhre (fishtail), Manaslu and Tukuche peak and many more. Ghorepani is Magar village. If you are interested about the Magar culture you can visit in to Magar museum.

Early in the morning we go for the excursion to the poon hill. Poon hill is most high light spot for this trekking.   Who want to make this trekking they do not want miss it. This spot is very famous for the panoramic view of mountain and sunrise. For the excursion warm cloth, water and camera are the requirement to you than after trek back to tea house in the Ghorepani have breakfast and trek to Tatopani. It takes you 6hours. Along the way we pass through rhododendron forest. In this forest you can enjoy with different kinds of vegetation flora and fauna and wild life and panoramic view of mountain. This day we walk all the way continue down hill to Tatopani.

It’s take 5-6hours. This day we walk upstream of Kaligandaki River. We pass some villages like Dana, (deepest gorge in the world) Kopchepani. Dana is beautiful village. The treks continue gradually up hill to Rupse water fall than after steep up hill to Ghasa. Ghasa is beautiful Thakali village. Thakali are major ethnic group in this area. Culture of Thakali is similar to Gurung, Magar, and And Tamang mix.

Takes 6-7hours. This day you’re trekking continue with along the Kaligandaki River. Passing pine forest and some villages like Kalopani, Kokhethanti, Larjung, Kobang and Tukuche. All are the beautiful villages. This day we will see very beautiful Mountain View of Dhawalagiri, Tukuche peak, Nilgiri, Annapurna 1st. When we will get in the Larjung You will get the Mountain Dhalagiri very closely like touch able. In the starting way is gradually up hill to Kalopani and then normal way to Marpha. Marpha is very beautiful village. People from this village are Thakali and some are Mustangs people. You can see there Tibetan culture and goods.

It takes 5-6hours. The treks continue normal by normal way to Jomsom. (Jomsom is District head quarter of Mustang District. So this town is quite big. Here is the Jomsom airport from where we will fly back to Pokhara) cross the Kaligandaki River and follow normal way to Eklebhatti (small village) have lunch there and trek continue to Kagbeni. Kagbeni is very beautiful village. People from village are Mustangi people Call them Bhote as well. If you are interested to Buddhism and monastery you can visit there. And this village is the gate way to Upper Mustang.

It will take 5-6hours. This day your trek follows up hill. This day we pass some villages and having admired beauty of mountain and oasis land. All the way up hill to Muktinath. Muktinath is very beautiful village and this is the pilgrimage area for both Hinduism and Buddhism. There is a temple, call Muktinath temple this is temple of Bisnu one of the three gods of Hinduism. Inside the temple there is natural lamp you can see that and some monastery as well.

It will take 5 to 6 hours to trek back to Jomsom and overnight in Jomsom.

 Fly back to Pokhara. Over night in Hotel

Drive to Kathmandu transfer to hotel.

Transfer to Airport for departure to home.
